On November 7, 2003, the University of the West Indies conferred upon Dr. the Honourable Carlton Earl Davis, OJ, CD, the Doctor of Laws (honoris causa) in recognition of his over thirty years of involvement in the Bauxite Alumina Industry in Jamaica. Dr. Davis was also recognized for his visionary leadership and managerial skills, having chaired and led several key institutions, including the National Housing Trust, the Civil Service, and serving as Cabinet Secretary. Additionally, he chaired the Jamaica Board of Special Olympics and served on the Board of the Bank of Jamaica. |
