HPM'S SPEAKING NOTES
FOR PUBLIC MEETING
JUNCTION, ST. ELIZABETH
MARCH 1, 2002
■ Good to be in Junction again.
■ All afternoon I have experienced the warmth of the St.
Elizabeth people.
■ This is not a campaign meeting. Not ready for that yet.
■ This is just a stop to reason with my people 'live and
direct'.
■ We are telling people what we have done to improve
their lives, and what we will do to build a bright and
prosperous future for them because: "We are out to
build a new Jamaica, a better Jamaica."
■ Some other people are running up and down the
country saying that they are campaigning.

■ The more they campaign, the less the people like them.
The more they campaign the further they slip in the
polls.
■ They are confused and asking, "how come the Prime
Minister and his Party getting more popular at the
height of their campaign?"
■ You the people of junction know that I am a 'hard man
fi dead'.
■ I know that as long as I remain sincere, honest,
maintain my integrity, work hard to improve the lives of
the Jamaican people, and always tell the people the
truth I have nothing to worry about.
■ The people will do what they need to do when the right
time comes.

CORRUPTION ALLEGATIONS
■ Another thing that you know about me - I don't curse
anybody. I don't engage in character assassination.
■ The Leader of the Opposition is going around the
country talking about who and who is "Puss family."
■ The Opposition spokesman on Finance talking about
exposing corruption.
■ In every case where there has been talk of corruption
the Government has acted swiftly to ensure
independent investigation.
■ No Minister in any Government formed by the Party
that I lead has ever gone to prison, because we are
honest and we believe in integrity.
■ Their real aim is to derail, to stop the progress of the
country and the people in every area where we have
made solid achievements.
