Description	*Princess Alice (right) and Mrs. T.W.J. Taylor (to her far left), wife of the first Principal of the UCWI, and Head Undergraduate (centre), B. A. Q. Hamilton-Smith. Her Royal Higness Princess Alice, Countess of Athlone, was appointed by His Majesty George VI as the first Chancellor of the UCWI. She resigned from the poisition in 1971.
